• KEY – A key unlocks doors. But more than that, a key represents trust, access, and responsibility. When you hold The HAUS KEY, you're not just a client — you're a part of our Pilates community.

Joseph Pilates didn't imagine a studio where students would always depend on an instructor. He envisioned an open studio — a space where people learn the method, master their bodies, and eventually practice on their own.

He believed that Pilates (or "Contrology") should become a part of your daily life — not something you only do with a teacher watching every move.

At Kontrol Haus, we follow that same philosophy.

The HAUS KEY is more than a membership. It's a pathway to independence.

Step 1 – Guided Practice
During your HAUS KEY year, you work closely with Xi or Libby — building alignment, strength, control, and a deep understanding of the Classical Pilates system.

Step 2 – Assessment
Toward the end of your HAUS KEY, your instructor will assess your practice. We look at:

• Your understanding of the Classical order

• Your ability to self-correct

• Your safety and control on the apparatus

Step 3 – Earn the Key (Literally)
If you meet the standard, you earn the right to practice independently at Kontrol Haus — just as Joseph Pilates originally intended in his open studio.

Independent practice does not mean you are left alone in the studio.

• A teacher will always be present in the studio during independent practice sessions.

• They are not there to lead or instruct you like a regular class.

• But if you have a question — about form, a transition, or an exercise — you can simply ask, and they will help you.

Think of it as supported independence.

You take ownership of your practice. The teacher is there as a safety net — not a director.

You move freely. But you're never truly alone.

Once you have completed The HAUS KEY and been cleared for independent practice, you can book open studio time for only $38 per session.

This includes:

• Full access to the apparatus

• A teacher present in the studio

• Guidance when you need it — no extra charge
